"Blacks" and "whites" as groups don't matter. What matters is...
...individual circumstances. The middle-class black kid in America today is far more "advantaged" than nearly everyone on the planet and certainly more advantaged than, say, a dirt-poor Asian immigrant or Appalachian white kid who would be discriminated against by affirmative action.
I am okay with colleges making some individual admissions decisions based on individual personal circumstances, such as poverty or other things that had to be overcome relative to the applicant pool as a whole, but broad-based discrimination based on race is wrong and unAmerican. This should not be a point of contention.
